Does God have have Free Will?

Hard to say. Divine properties difficult to see. Talking out loud here...

If you believe God created man in his image, and he gave us free will, then God likely would have free will too. And when people point out "...and God gave man free will", that highlights the fact that free will is not standard equipment on God's creations. It's not like anyone has asserted "...and God gave man a nose."

HOWEVER, free will seems to be a moral liability -- something that can get us into a lot of trouble and even sent to hell. And if perfection entails never getting in trouble, and if God is perfect, then God must not have free will. (Free will is over-rated anyway; we might be able to enjoy life just the same, maybe more, if we didn't have free will (assuming we do now).) And the fact that free will is so unique a concept in the universe, unlike the nose, makes it sound like we're God's little experiment in a radical technology...something not yet perfected and of dubious worth -- so free will was not one of God's properties; otherwise, he would have infused it into more of his creations.

Of course, all this is moot, because everyone know that God and free will don't exist. ;)

God exists outside such concepts as free will. If all things are of God, how can God go against it self or towards it self? Forget whether or not God has free will, does God even make decisions? No, God simply does with no restrictions or thoughts, free will is not needed.

God does not need free will.

Free will is the ability to chose what is seen as a best choice when we are unsure of what the correct answer is. God is never unsure.

You are asking a question that cannot be answered. Philosophers and theologians have been trying to answer that very question for thousands of years as well as the equally perplexing "do humans have free will." My suggestion would be to read "God's Debris" by Scott Adams (yes the Dilbert comic guy - but don't let that deter you. the book has nothing to do with Dilbert, is strictly philosophical in nature and entirely along the lines of your question.)

doubtful decided doesn't need free will but people do have choices even if there is no all knowing being which includes all future judgments thus eliminating free will .
