I chose to leave. Grew up in another country, and moved to the US of A at the age of 18, leaving the rest of my family behind. I'm not rich by any means, but I have done a lot better financially than I ever could have had I stayed. Would I have been happier had I stayed close to my family? I don't know; can't compare! I have a family here now, and I'm happy.

Stupid to leave a wonderful life. Money doesn't make people happy. It only makes them greedy. They will still want more. I'm happy with the man I have. We aren't rich, but the bills get paid and there is a little left at the end of the month.

I know most people are telling you to keep the "wonderful life" with it's poverty. I disagree with them.
You "got" the wonderful life because you were able to make your life wonderful. If you leave the wonderful life and take the money, you will easily be able to construct another wonderful life, only this wonderful life will feature a swiss bank account chocked full of wonderful cash.
You're the one that makes the life wonderful. If your life is wonderful now, you'll just make another wonderful life when circumstances change. Feel free to take the money. The choice to take the money was just you drawing in wealth to fill the one remaining deficiency in your wonderful life.
You CAN, in fact, have your cake and eat it too, because you can always just bake another cake.
Take the money, be happy.

A lot of RICH people have a LOT of problems, so
I would incline to stay poor. Anyone who is very
poor does not have a wonderful life., why because
with them being very poor means that they do not
even have money to buy food at times. I have a
wonderful life because I worked over 33yrs and
earned what I have and saved and now am re-
tired and enjoying life, so in reality life is what one
makes it and you do not have to be rich to enjoy it.

Hi,
Life has many cross roads and a choice for each one encountered. Ask yourself this question just before retiring, and see how you feel about it the next morning. The answer you will feel.
There is nothing wrong with being rich, just do not allow it to destroy your values and belief system you now have, In other words, be yourself.
Good luck,
Darryl S.

Stay, because "wonderfull" is different for different ppl. If i had a great wife and kids who loved me and didn't have an amazing job and i didn't mind the low income i'd stay with that.

No one in his right mind would leave a wonderful life. The only reason people work so hard to have money is because they think it will get them a wonderful life.

I am with a man now who has money. I'm not happy at all. I grew up quite poor, and remember being happy in my life before my marriage.
If you are happy, don't let that go. Happiness isn't as easy to come by as people want you to believe.

I am poor now. We live check to check right now, but are extremely happy with what we have. And I have no plans on leaving, I am staying.

I've had money and a terrible husband; now I live paycheck to paycheck, lucky not to overdraw my checking account every month with the man I love. I'd stay in a second.
