It's really your Moms decision, it's not good to be sneaking around her I'm 99% sure she will find out anyway. Just wait until you're actually ready. You may even find in the future that you don't like makeup. I'm 21 and when I was about your age I always wanted to wear makeup and now the only time I wear makeup is on special occasions! I love the look of natural beauty. And if you're trying to get all made up for a boy, it's not worth it, if he really likes you he would like you for who you are.

I don't know why parents are so scared of make up these days. I started wearing make up when I was around 11 or 12...I started off small with mascara and lip gloss my mom taught me how to put it on so that I would not look stupid. I wore eyeshadow when I was 13 (not wild colors...just a nice shimmer) and then eyeliner around the same time. When I started getting pimples (teenage years ugggg) my mom took me to the MAC make up counter and they taught me how to put it on THE RIGHT WAY! When you start wearing make up please have an experienced person teach you..I am sick and tired of seeing little girls trying to put on make up but then end up looking like a prostitute! 14 is definitely old enough...just learn about limits. I am 14 now..thank god I don't have pimples anymore!!! Now I don't need foundation!

I started wearing makeup at 12 and I think that was too young. 14 is (to me) a good age to start, just not heavy makeup.

14 is a good time to start...but, if you really don't need it, then why put it on?
You have your whole life to go yet!
Experiment so that when you are ready you will know how to do it.
P.S.
There is an old saying " less is more"
The art of putting on make up is so you really don't look made up!

14 is a good age, maybe not eyeliner because it makes you look a little older but defeneitly eye shadow and MASCARA a must...but if you want eyeliner at your age and your concern about your age I suggest a color brown pencil eyeliner, i don't know why but I like it better than black....
good luck and try something noticeable but natural and that compliments your skin tone

12 is an ok age in my view. in common terms for like possibly a tad of concealer commencing place eyeshadow or mascara or in spite of. i could say eyeliner comes a minimum of a 365 days later. surely, in colleges, you will not see a woman in a junior intense without makeup.

haha you sound like me.
i snuck eyeshadow and (dimsightedly) borrowed other peoples mascara.
which was in 6th grade...then in 7th i was finally allowed to wear any makeup i wanted...but because of the yearning to wear it for so long i majorly overdid it and ended up looking stupid for a while until i realized how much makeup i was wearing.
so all in all-wait till you're no longer naive enough to go through phases like these. I was in 9th grade when everything came together.

I started at 14. But I made sure to use the correct eye protector because sometimes they can become stained with too much make-up.
