Yes...I am very happy. I just love Sanjaya..he is my favorite as well. Every week I am so scared he will leave; however I read on the idol board that he was in 2nd place this week. Someone posted about a source that is highly accurate on predictions and dialidol.com had him in 2nd or 3rd place in their real time line graph (not the bar graph)..this site predicts the order based on analysis of calls, busy signals, and so forth.
We can be pretty sure he won't leave for a while as long as he is raking in new viewers and ratings and media attention..good or bad, people are talking and producers like that. I do believe the shop is rigged 100% sure based on information that slipped through the idol board in season 4 that made me totally convinced they know who leaves which week that was very compelling. But if producers have manipulated how they want things to go and appear, it seems he will get further (but I don't think all the way but who knows).
Even though they placed him in the middle group, posters on idol's message board said that Ryan never said they got the most votes in the top group and that the wording is designed to make you think the top three girls are safe..people predict they want you to think this and go for a shocker in a week or two..people think Lakisha will be "voted" off.
So many people hate Sanjaya it is hard and they think only worsters and 'tweeen vote for him but this is not true. I taked to a number of older women in their 40's and 50's who really like him. People of all ages like him..heck, look at Tony Bennett, he is 80 years old and a big fan.
Here is why I like him and my tribute to him..
I am a big fan of Sanjaya, even though I don't feel he has the best voice, he has a good voice and it is getting better as he projects it more. He has the x factor in spades. He has a character any mother would be proud of and is someone more teenage boys should emulate.
He is humble but yet has a bit of kick. He is shy and yet adventuresome pushing beyond his comfort-zone week by week. He is sensitive and yet cries for others pain not his own.
He is dashed to bits four weeks in a row by judges who ignore how he has addressed their previous criticisms and has improved week by week, yet he comes back with a smile the next day. He takes it like a man..the vicious hurtful posts, the blame for something he has zero control over...he really is courageous. How many teen-aged males could take blows to the ego like that. How many grown men for Pete's sake. He doesn't cry or talk back (unless one consider his recent tease with Simon back-talking).
He is like a new teacher, inexperienced and yet each time he goes before the class (audience) he gets better and better week by week and learns more week by week. He has it within him to someday be an entertainer's version of a master teacher as he gains experience and learns.
He is interesting and fascinating and you look forward to what he will sing, how he will wear his hair, what the judges will say, when will he knock it out of the ballpark!
He is as Diana R says love..we see his soul and it is such a good one that even the haters often preface their hate by commenting "but he is a sweet (nice) guy". This is not something typically done on this board.
I personally have a habit of rooting for the underdog in life. I just like them and feel for them..Sanjaya grew on me to be my favorite. He is a great role model for men as I said nice, sensitive, sweet, unassuming, humble in flamboyance, tenacious, compassionate, eager to please and learn being, a good son..a good brother...a good friend.
Sanjaya is love and I at 57 years old have also been Sanjayaed and trust me there are a heck of a lot more people voting for him cause they like him than cause they don't like him.
Sanjaya, though, he may not be the perfect voice, is the total package and American so long starved to see genuine goodness and fed a diet of insults to people by judges that crush young kids souls, seeing the world decline and shred before their eyes are hungry for that and Sanjaya is going to go far. God has a greater purpose in all this for Sanjaya and his influence. I truly believe that.

At this point, I really don't care. As long as he doesn't win. Truthfully, record companies will probably not sign him, BUT he may get someone to sign him and work with him and get him some kind of entertainment job, since he does seem to have quite a following.
