Take it from somebody who was There!

The best book you have listed is The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test

Also Mauve Gloves, Madmen, Clutter and Vine

The Dharma Bum

I would also suggest Playing in the Band: An Oral and Visual Portrait of the Grateful Dead

and some of the many other books on the Dead - who were at the center of the whole movement.

Definitely Ginsberg things, Inherit the Wind, and everything by Abbie Hoffman.

Particularly "Steal this Book", "Woodstock Nation", and his autobiography. The former can be found for free, online.

A lot of the XKCD stuff, the webcomic, has hippie themes as well.

There was also a very lovely woodstock book that included character sketches and accounts that changed my life, but sadly I forget the name.

Psychedelic drugs could have many effects; they'd bypass circuit the impulses going to the techniques. i think of what happens is that one and all you inhibitions are long gone. You show your self greater vividly, then once you're sober, yet that doesn't unavoidably develop your techniques, it whether would desire to fry it. I even have 2 acquaintances from the psychedelic era that are greens, one holiday fried their brains. It replaced into too undesirable because of the fact they have been very smart.
