If it is big enough, it will bite, nibble on, harass, and annoy the poor thing.

If he is not experienced he might. Here's why : They think looks tasty eat it and then the bitterness that the newt excretes from their skin will cause the turtle to spit it out. Now he knows they are not a good food source and is less likely to eat one again. Turtles have a good sense of smell so he will know without touching it that it was not a good food source. But that does not mean the first newt survived. Or if you keep the turtle well fed on another protein source he may not bother with the newt unless he gets hungry.

Depending on what water turtle you are talking about I wouldn't be able to tell you. Although many will act very agresively. I suggest not mixing the two and if you do you should have a large tank or pond with many hiding spaces.

Yes!! Water turtles eat anything! I had a couple frogs and a tadpole in the tank once and the turtle ate them all!

Well he might and he might not try it but keep a close eye on them until you see what is going to happen.
