We get more out of the space program than we put in. The spinoffs are huge. Considering the benefits, we should be putting much more into the space program.

But, this will likely be a tough sell to your teacher. They will likely be of the liberal persuasion and, therefore, unmoved by the economic benefits.

When people look back on our society in a few hundred or a few thousand years they're going to look at our culture and it isn't going to be pretty. We'll be the generation that polluted the air, raped the environment, knew more about the lives of celebrities we have never met than our own children, and were more concerned about how much money we made than what we had to do to earn it.

The space program is one of the few unselfish things we engage ourselves in. For most of the people involved it is motivated purely by curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. It speaks volumes about the imagination and creativity of our generation and when future people look back at us, exploring space and documenting the universe will be one of our greatest accomplishments (maybe one of our only accomplishments.)

In just the last 10 years while people have been questioning the legitimacy of NASA we have discovered planets around other stars, found that the universe is not only expanding but it's speeding up, and much more. Within the next several decades we will probably find life on other planets or moons and set up the first human colonies outside our own world.

The space program proves that we still have the ability to think about things much larger than ourselves and it shows our ability to dream, without which nothing we have ever accomplished as a species would be possible.

Not to really burst your bubble here... but things are not getting smaller due to the space program.... The space program has developed some neat things in the past, but sd cards, radar, medicine, mp3 players, and phones aren't any of them....

The primary reason to continue the space program is to develop our understanding of the universe, and provide jobs to people working on space program components....

It is true that the space program costs billions of dollars to keep running, but the space program is a part of our history. To throw it all away does not make any sense. After all, we competed to the outer limits of the earth to make sure the the space program was in our control (the space race.) There is also much yet to discover. I personally do not think there is anything wrong with trying to know what is beyond our world because who knows when we are going to need that kind of knowledge.

Why not? Because it's there. It doesn't have to be about technologies developed from it. It would be worth doing if there was no other benefit other than the wonder of seeing what's out there, and boldly going where no one has gone before.

Okay so you have to write a paper...

How about this?

How much is the War in Iraq costing us PER DAY? I heard it costs the USA "at least" one Billion Dollars per day. So who is going to pay for that? You and I.

I vote that we bring our boys home and pay off the war in Iraq before spending any more money on space travel.

Wow, you may desire to have an exceedingly creative strategies to think of of one in each of those competent question. i think of while Jesus returns he will restoration all issues to Himself. i don't recognize what which potential in terms of the gap application. i think of each little thing that may not of Him, and His purposes, would be destroyed. he will "separate the wheat from the chaff." something that hasn't been planted via Him would be uprooted. so as that could desire to be a framework for questioning approximately your question - not an answer, in common terms a framework for thinking. God Bless you!
