It would have to be in a place like Lawrence, which was burned, or Pottawatomie Creek where John Brown slaughtered a family of pro-slavery-ists.

It would have to say something like:

In the 1850s America was torn apart by the issue of slavery and which new territories should allow or forbid slavery. On this spot on May 21, 1856 the city of Lawrence was put to the torch by slavery supporters in response to equal atrocities perpetrated by anti-slavery forces. The deaths caused by the radicals earned Kansas the title "Bleeding Kansas". Ultimately Kansas chose to forbid slavery in its territory and joined the cause of the North during the Civil War"
