Well I'm not very big on religion, but if there weren't any, the world would be a VERY different place. Maybe better, maybe worse. And if it had not been around some good things would never have happened, and some bad things would never have happened. But we can't change it now, so who cares?

Absolutely not, Think about how closley our laws resemble the laws of most religions. From a christain point of veiw, could you imagine a world where the concept of forgiveness, love thy neighbor, and do unto others as you would have done unto you were never taught or understood. If you have nothing to believe in, you have nothing to live for.

I think in the beginning, religion was a combination of a group of people's history(whether it was fiction, nonfiction, or a combination of both), and a set of behavioral guidelines that a group agrees to follow in order to coexist peacfully together. I can't imagine the world being better without either one of those things.

Probably not. The majority of people on Earth rely on some sort of religion for moral guidance, community, and stability.

I'm an atheist, but I would much rather religion stick around instead of having the rest of the world fall apart around me.

No....there still would be problems.
And the world would be boring with no one being a different religion than you...you wouldn't be able to explore what's out in the world, because there wouldn't be anything...
it would not be better.

No. People will still have wars and rules to live by. I doubt much would change. Religion takes care of peoples emotional needs. If religion wasn't around people would find something else to fulfill their emotional needs. So not much would change.

The reason humans formed societies, communities and laws where all due to religion, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it.

hellz no! because the few people who do act good these days , do because they believe that they will be awarded in a after life , and dont go around killin and raping people because they actually believe in a hell, so religion is kinda good because majority of people believe in it , and since they too dumb to be good people just for being good people , heaven and hell is a good way to keep most retards actions in check
