I think they are intellegent life forms that have mastered the art of travelling time and space with ease, but, they could also be what the religious people call 'Gods, Angels, Devils etc. and are infinite beings that know how to enter different realms at will.

They look basically like Earth humans, except that some may have physical traits which identify them as alien ; in much the same way that Japanese, Chinese, Blacks etc have a particular look , [ physical traits] all in the human race.

Many times, people see something in the sky and think "Ooh, aliens!" It turns out to be something ordinary, but people prefer to live in the imaginary world inside their heads.
In a lot of cases, it's wishful thinking. "Gee, wouldn't it be nice if somebody from another planet came and solved all our problems for us!" is a lot easier to believe than, "Gee, maybe I could get off my fat butt and do something to make the world a little better."
If there actually *are* aliens observing Earth, they'd be too smart to let themselves be seen. Also, why would they bother with us? Their technology is much better, and they have access to hundreds of planets with lots of natural resources and no pesky little humanoids.
We're on our own until we learn to civilize ourselves.

I think aliens are like insect type bugs like cockaroaches because they can survive a nuclear destruction so there should be a different type of big bug life form out there that can survive in outerspace. I also think there is another world out there but it could be in another dimension.
