Try Start > Control Panel > System > Remote > Uncheck everything to include the box in the Advanced tab

Also in Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services >
Remote Desktop Help Session Manager - Disable
Remote Registry - Disable

If you have installed a firewall (windows has one but not a great one) and have spy software - relax. If you are behind a router - relax the router will block him. If you need firewall software get some it is part of nearly all the "Internet Protection" type products these days.

There really isn't much someone can do with your IP if you are keeping uptodate software etc. If you are on a dsl or cable line there is a good chance that rebooting the modem will get you a different IP address - if not you can call the ISP and request them to clear yours so you will get a different one.

sure they do get your IP handle even with the incontrovertible fact that that's only your exterior IP handle which if set to dynamic modifications each and every couple weeks. web pages try this so they are able to log you like boards and such. that's good prepare in the event that they might desire to IP ban somebody on the internet internet site. lots of the time that's risk-free and shield.
