I have made several recordings of well-known songs as sung by well-known politician purely as a comedic spoof. Can I make an album and sell it legally? Can I get a copyright?

when you put your words to an existing music composition you only have rights to the words. you will have to pay mechanical rights royalty for the music composition either through the copyright office or Harry Fox Agency. normally your recording label will do this, i only mention it if you intend to produce it yourself. parody use of otherwise protected works is permissable.
