I was accepted into USF's CAS with distinction, however I wanted to attend their business undergraduate program (business school) and I remembered on my common app I had put 'undeclared' so they automatically put me in their college of arts and sciences.....could anyone please tell me about their procedures in switching between schools/courses? i have not made an official decision about what uni im going to yet..

Ok so I guess NYU's policies (I was using their rules as an example) are pretty different than other colleges because I remembered this particularly institution saying it would be very difficult to switch between schools.....but then again USF didn't even have a section on their supplement that required you to decide which school you wanted to attend for 4 years ....

Generally, your first two years will be core or general ed courses anyway, so this shouldn't hurt you. Look at their bulletin (which should be online) to see what the differences are between the requirements for the two colleges. At my school, for example, business majors need to take economics for social science requirements, whereas liberal arts majors have a broader range of possibilities. Also, the math requirements are different between the two colleges. If you register during orientation, talk to your orientation advisor about your plan to switch schools, and they will help you to sign up for the classes you need. You may even be able to make the switch during orientation but, if not, you can take care of that fairly soon, as long as you have the right courses.

You have to "apply" to the business school your sophomore year. You can't just jump into the USF business school. Tell your advisor you would like to go to the business school during orientation so that they can help you with the right classes, etc. to get into the B school.
