sometimes its hard for parents to say goodbye. i say education is the most important thing you can do for you and your future. if you have the grades to get into a big name college then you need to go for it. apply for ALL the scholarships you can. you would be amazed at all the oddball scholarships there are out there and you can have a piece of a lot of them if you apply. maybe its money that is in the back of your parents minds and they are thinking they may be able to afford a two year college better than a university. i say start working on that now and go to a university. if you have a job.....save,save,save but keep your grades up. sometimes you can find businesses that will sponsor your education if you will work for them when you graduate, just something im throwing out to ya.....dont sign anything....lol im saying go for the biggest and best university your grades or sat's will get you into. those bring in the best jobs for your future. now, get your stuff together and start planning.

Small schools have more classes that are offered, but professor's classes aren't as large. The professors can spread their time out more at a small university. A larger univeristy will have larger classes, and the professors won't be able to help you out as much as you would like. Even classrooms can get more attention in smaller schools. If you play sports, then a bigger school might be for you, but you have better luck with scholarships at a smaller school.

Honestly, I would visit the schools. When I was considering colleges I could not decide until I was there, on campus. It will definitely give you a better vibe of what your 4+ years will be like. I would select the school that you feel the most comfortable at and has the program you want.
Good Luck!

I went to a small high school to and decided to go to a small college... I love my decision!!! The teachers know you on a name bases. Also there are more opportunities at a smaller college such as internships and workstudy. Plus I play sports and so I go to other campuses all the time and I know if I went to another campus I would never go to class cuz to get to your classes at larger universities you might have to leave 20-30min. before your class even startes to get there on time but at my school you could leave 5min. before class and still be there on time. Also when you play sports and miss alot of classes the teachers help you to catch up unlike the larger universities.

I doubt you know the pros and cons of both (i'm pretty sure most college students know this) --
i have attended both, for undergrad a small school and for grad a large school...
and the honest answer is, it always depends on the student. what's totally fitting for one student at one time may be totally wrong for the next student.

small school gives you more care than big school because the teachers don t have many students to deal with and they can tend to them better
