Prepare your bed and choose your bedding flower plants according to sun or shade loving plants whichever is the case. Inpatients for shade, dark leafed begonias for sun, light green begonias for shade, vincas (periwinkles) for sun, geraniums for sun, etc. To prepare your beds, work a good organic soil into the existing soil. Place rose soil in the hole dug and around the plant , add a slow release fertilizer like Oscomote, top entire bed with a good purchased mulch. Keep watered.
Good luck and enjoy.

It really changes from flower to flower. Most bulbs tell you on the package how deep to plant, I guess the most important thing is to prepare the soil, to get weed free , and to have it loose enough to plant . Remember that plants need water and oxygen to the roots to survive. If your soil is ready and it is warm enough DIG IN and try your luck . It would help to know what kind of flowers you are planting . Some Spring flowers like Tulips and Daffodils etc.... Need to have been planted last fall. Best of luck and just have fun gardening .

So many variances location, weather, sun , shade, you need to research online for different flowers you want to grow or plant that will do well in your area & in the sun &/or shade you have available as well as the soil you have in your area. You might check with some neighbors to see what works well for them. Find a yard that has flowers in it that you like & stop & talk to the homeowner. Or visit some online nurseries for the info you need as well as pictures of the flowers. Many offer complete gardens for sun or shade areas with complete care & planting info & they also ship when it is time to plant for your area. I have had good luck with www.springhillnurseries.com

If its not too cold where you are, Farm supply stores usually have a large variety of potted flowers by now, to start you off. Just dig and plant. A little miracle grow won't hurt either.

Depending on where you live (temperature wise) it may be too early to plant most things. I would need more information about that and if you have an idea about what kind of plants you want to put out. You may contact me if you like.
