Honestly, most bank robberies are a crime of desperation, often committed by decent non-violent people. Child molestation is a 'crime' of sickness, yet usually they get off easy... Which is more likely to do it again, which would you rather have on the streets. Some thing is not right here.

Yes, I know, but child molestation is worse than murder. Who is really harmed in a bank robbery? Especially if they get the insured money back...

Steven, very few people make a living of bank robbery, and a large portion our first offenses. Although many have a firearm, the majority contain no assault to others. Without the fiscal value, isn't assault more morally corrupt than bank robbery.

I agree child molesters should receive harsher punishments. The other half of your question is a MYTH. The vast majority of bank robberies ARE NOT committed by 'decent non-violent' people who are desperate.

Unfortunately, child molestation cases, like rape cases, are notoriously hard to prosecute. Prosecutors are more likely to cut a deal with a very bad person rather than have some lawyer whip-saw some child-witness-victim on cross-examination and let some sociopath get acquitted. It's got nothing to do with "liberal judges." If you know a better way that adheres to principles of American jurisprudence, let me know - I'm all ears.

specific there is not any punishment too harsh for those monsters. the U. S. would desire to be greater durable on criminals who commit heinous crimes and stick to greater healthful of many different international locations that even shrink of the palms of shoplifters. communicate some deterrent!!!! i do no longer think of the dying penalty is the respond because of the fact it is speedy and uncomplicated and those idiots would desire to be bodily punished to the element of desirous to die to get rid of the soreness. existence in penitentiary isn't the respond for specific considering that our prisons are overcrowded already and that isn't harsh sufficient tremendously for people who commit crimes against babies. besides why would desire to taxpayers would desire to undergo the load of feeding and housing those criminals. The ACLU cries that we would wrongly punish an harmless guy or woman so we would desire to continually a minimum of impose harsh punishment on somebody the place there is incredibly little question approximately their guilt which includes somebody that's caught interior the act or admits guilt and is deemed sane. Our judicial gadget is incredibly backwards because of the fact we are gentle on criminals and puzzling on sufferers. What approximately sufferer's rights?

Our justice system is very screwed up. I too think that child molesters and rapists should spend more time in prison than they do. Too many times our justice system incorrectly punishes people for their crimes. Hell, it's very possible for a person to spend more time in jail for possessing weed than for raping a child! Doesn't seem like balanced justice to me.
