You will be OK mate. Neurotics are the creative and inventive ones and the obsessives ones get things done. All that leaves are the ornery numpties who screw things up, the mentally ill (1 in 10) the geniuses and the artists. All of these memes are intermixed in us to varying degrees and concentrations. Add to all this sex in all its variations, themes and colours and just as an appetiser, throw death at us as icing on the cake? Wot? Doesn't bear close scrutiny does it? I find it all life's sh*t is more bearable over a drink with nice people. Everything has its time and purpose. Yours will come. Find people you can trust and learn something more life affirming than psychology to talk about with them. People have got kindlier, more gentle to each other as the centuries pass by, you will be OK, you have my word on this.

I agree with essie, you've just read 700 pages, want to give your self a break? And you know the first rule of becoming a psychologist is to avoid self-diagnosing. If it were that easy, the world wouldn't need psychologists : ) Take a tea and a nap, really, mate. Bring yourself down from that anxiety and listen to some music. Come on, mate, you must be pretty sharp if you study that much. Give us a break, eh? Cheers.

haha. I know what you mean. Seems the more you know on this stuff, the more you think you might have this or that symptom of a disorder....The best way to become an introvert is to stay away from people and stay busy... Now go rent a comedy and have some good clean fun.

Being dead is worse than being neurotic. I think hyperbole is your problem; not neurotics.

When we read psych books, we feel like we're mental. When we read medical books, we think we have every symptom of every disease listed. So just chill.
