the period is how long it takes one object to repeat a pattern or in this case, to make one complete revolution.

Contrary to what you can read above, the unit of a period is second. The time required for one complete revolution.

Revolution is 360 degree, or making a full turn. Typical unit is n or r (number or revolutions)
Period is the time needed to do a full turn. Typical unit is RPM.(Revolutions or rounds per minute)

For example, the minute needle of the clock turns 60 revolutions in every hour. In one hour, 60 revolutions, and the period is 1 RPM.
