No, it doesn't hurt, because you can be put under anesthetics. The healing time is about 3-6 weeks, and then you're all good to go for sex. I'm circumcised and am very happy.

Sorry that you have problems with your pecker.Yes it is painful.the recovery period can take anywhere from four weeks to six months.you are able to resume having sex when it is fully healed which is different from person to person. It is not advisable to have unprotected sex even after the initial healing process has taken place. For newly circumcised men there is a higher incidence of contracting HIV than for an uncircumcised man. Before you go under the knife get a second or even third opinion.Good luck.

Are you certain this is needed? The clear indications for circumcision are cancer of the foreskin, frostbite, and gangrene, all vVERY rare. But many ignorant doctors still circumcise for other reasons, such as phimosis, where non-surgical treatments are known to be just as effective, although less profitable for the doctor. See the excellent article at http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis/ I'd suggest printing out the relevant parts of this article and taking it to the doctor with you. If he refuses to discuss alternatives, get a second opinion. It's YOUR penis, not his! And once it's cut, you can never again experience the joys of being a natural man.
Good luck. I hope you can avoid this surgery.

It hurts nowhere as much as it does for newborns. Unlike them you can be put sleep; you just have to leave it alone for a week or two.

There are alternatives, though. What do you have; a tight foreskin? If so, this cream works 95% of cases:

It's: 0.05% betamethasone
It's probably available more easily in most places that don't practice circumcision... that is everywhere except the US, Jews, and Muslims, haha. Well, it's also available; you just gotta ask.

Ask yourself that question. I would imagine that having my wang cut on would hurt.
