Sorry, I just finished a bad relationship and I'm not quite ready to start dating again. Besides, I'm working in another field so I'm just an avocational geologist at the moment anyway.

It all depends on what you want done. A good petroleum geologist might stink as a mineralogist. A good paleontologist might not know beans about geophysics. A good planetary geologist doesn't help you if you are mapping out lacustrine deposits. After you decide what you want him/her to do then inquire who might fit the bill with The American Geological Society.

Know a few, but depends on speciality you need. I'm an environmental geologist, formerly a hydrogeologist, with advanced degree focussing on sedimentology, microfossils, and computer applications.
