Are you a member of the Iranian government?. Iran generously gifted?!!!!, are you kidding me!!!!! that's like someone going into your house, stealing all your furniture and then returning it and saying " here's a gift for you ", all I can do is pray that the British people have the presence of mind to see this for what it truly was, a PR ploy / attempt to get Britain to ease up on sanction talk / "Hi there my name is Mahmoud ( Mr. Benevolent ) Amadinajad" name tag. But I have a very sick feeling in my stomach that the British in particular and the rest of the EU in general don't that have that presence of mind
and are going to see this as precisely what Mr Benevolent
wants them to see it as, and have no idea how completely
they're being played by this guy.

You mean Iran had reached a stalemate on the issue. It was to the point they would actually have to prove the soldiers were in their territory.
They were facing heat from the UK, the UN and others and decided they would be able to get out of this situation and not look too bad.
Iran recently stated they were escalating their refinement of radioactive materials in violation of UN resolution. so.. hmmm...

Iran knew they had messed up by taking the hostages and that the world was against them. It was the act of a little country trying to take on the world and they learmed no country was on their side so they backed down.

-takes hostages routinely
-has taken over the american embassy
-held the americans for months
-counterfeits u.s. currency for decades
