All trees shed leaves. Deciduous trees drop their leaves once a year over a few weeks. Evergreen trees drop their leaves all the time, a few at a time. (this is a pain if the tree is near a swimming pool). You haven't said if this is a problem for you in your garden. If I had a choice I would choose deciduous trees because you get rid of the leaf problem in 'one hit'. We let all our leaves drop completely and then we mow up the leaves with the lawn mower.
If you have problems with leaves not breaking down (plane trees), choose different trees where the leaves break down quickly eg chinese pistachio.
Conifers also continually drop leaves, that why the soil under them is usually acid. All plants renew their leaves regularly to get the best in food production. for themselves.

Any tree with small compound leaves are easier to care for. Trees like Locust or Ash.
Robinia pseudoacacia 'Frisia' chartreuse green-golden leaves.
These little leaves dry up and mostly require no clean up. However there lots of pea pods and twigs during the year.

How about a weird solution? Plant a ginko. This tree loses its leaves overnight. Rake once! The tree is beautiful and compact. I am looking for one, myself, but haven't found one I can afford. I will probably end up geting seed from established trees and starting from scratch.

Well the only ones I know are pine trees, evergreens, and those types of trees because trees with leaves have to shed in the winter because they cnat get nutrients when its cold. So they die and fall off.
