Change all your passwords and they won't be able to access anything. Well, they'll have all your old emails downloaded to your computer, but that'll be it.

Using the serial number means that if the laptop is psychically found and the serial number matches the laptop then the cops simply know it belongs to you. The only trouble is the tag and files can be removed from the system if whoever stole the laptop is aware how to do so. If it is a branch laptop - ie. Dell then the serial number can be traced online, so there may be hope yet. However a stolen laptop is low priority and hard to find. The cops sadly may not take the time to find it.

As far as outlook is conceren yes anyone who can get in will see your e-mail unless you change the password with the provider. THis will also work with yahoo. I would be more worried about any personal info you may have stored (ie Credit card #'s you may have used online or you SSN)

If you have remote access to the computer, access it, and shut it down. Go into your email account, and delete all the mail you are worried about. Email, can be deleted from any computer not just that one. They can only look at what you are logged on to. Log off.

You are right, this person now has access to everything on there. You do need to go in a read your email now and then change email address. Good luck.

Well Tony.. Delete your current one, and make a new one. That way they won't be able to get into in anymore.
