My computer shuts off on me when I get on the internet?

I had to do a restore on my computer b/c a error Surfboard 4100/4200 (something else) came up. Now when I get on the internet.. the computer restarts after a couple of seconds. What should I do/

it might be spyware or a virus. Make sure your anti-virus is up to date and run a scan. If its spyware, run a anti-spyware program (i use adaware free- http://www.lavasoft.com/)

A restore involes simply booting with the XP cd. It will detect you have Windows installed, then select rebuild.
