cryptography is a way to code messages to keep them hidden or secret...it can be used with a variety of codes like a scrambled alphabet, numbers, or your own made up symblos for letters or words...

Creyptography is a miss spelling of Cryptography.

We use it because we don't want association with the macabre word 'Crypt' associated with a resting place for the dead or a small cavity in the body......yuck!

Or, we may use it because the spelling checker is not functioning.

Or we are using it as a clever camouflage to hide the meaning which is what one does when they encrypt something.

It's becoming more common now due to security issues for sensitive information used in Public Domains. Disguising it denies access to unauthorised observers.
