and yet ignored the fact that Republicans have already done the same before she even got there?

Is this just more GOP hypocracy?

"It's interesting because three of our colleagues, who are all Republicans, were in Syria yesterday and I didn't hear the White House speaking out about that," Pelosi said, referring to the meeting that Representatives Frank Wolf, Joe Pitts, and Robert Aderholt had with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus on Sunday.

I wonder, just by visiting there, she seemed and acted a complete gentlewoman and lead them to the reasonable conclusion that not everyone here in the US is a Neo-con warmongering fool. Rice hasn't spoke but a few words to these people in years. Then I wonder if the Syrians, wanting not to be annihilated after Iran and wanting some stability, simply rang up the Iranians and talked some sense to get the Brits. The Syrians and Saudis certainly know that the tide has turned in America with Bush and his Right wing agenda...It's just that the Iranians were a little backwards and had to be reminded that Bush and his ways are soon to be gone. Patience is a virtue...Those other US Repub. Reps' sneaked over there, Pelosi went with fanfare.

A PERSON DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A PRESIDENT TO LEAD PEOPLE. i HAVEN'T FELT LED BY BUSH FOR YEARS

Those criticizing her are hypocrites. It is not unusual for high ranking members of Congress to go on fact finding tours. I'll bet if Newton Leroy Gingrich or ol' Denny Hastert had done the same you'd hear dead silence from the same people.

The trip is one recommended by a bi-partisan study group on Iraq and the Middle East.

They are trying so hard to find something, anything to discredit the Democrats. They're grasping at straws as they sink into the political sunset.

I think because she may have accomplished something while there, we will have to wait and see.

This might just be a coincidence, but I don't believe in coincidence.

Pelosi's visit coincided with
Iran's announcement that it would free 15 British marines and sailors captured in the Persian Gulf last month. Syrian officials claimed their country, an ally of Iran, played a key role in resolving the standoff. But they did not offer any specific details

Because she is working on the peace process that the Republicans and Bush have failed to do. They don't want their taxes to go up and are only concerned with their 401K's. Check out this question that they just evaded the issue on.
