My doctors haven't. I've been given a form asking if I wanted an HIV test done. (Basically a permission form so that if I wanted it done, they could and would do it.)

I don't believe that it's a routine test. However, if you want the test done, all you need to do is say so when the doctor starts talking about blood work. If the regular blood work has been done, then just bring it up.

I live in Hawaii and yes its part of the blood work tests. I did it when I went to the doctor and found out I was pregnant.

Normally they give you a paper and you check of if you want a test done or not

It is required in the state that I live in. So it just depends.
You should be tested regardless. Its not just you now, it is you and your baby

It's opitional in Wisconsin, but wouldn't you want to know for your sake and the sake of the child??

They ask you if you want one and have to sign a consent. I'm married and I still took one.

yes they usually will and you may only get the results if they are positive.
