Is independent auditors, Earnest & Young LLP good for Lockheed Martin Corp?

Actually, I'm exercising my rights as a shareholder by voting ... but I never could understand why my shareholder vote on auditors is needed ... or what would happen if we all voted against these auditors.

Very important since Enron had bad auditors, but, ah, just want more opinions. Thanks.

"Are independent auditors...?" Do you mean for the sake of competition for audit agencies or do you mean Lockheed could do better with another Big-5 firm? Or something else?
