Yes, now stop reminding me how old I am .

And Bon Bons, the yellow ones with the powdery outside and the chewy toffee in the middle, or chocolate limes - they were AWESOME.

We could get two sweeties for half a pence. And if we were lucky, we would have 2pence to spend after school, to share between the three of us. Those were the days. Little white papers bags, a stern looking shop-keep, and always having to wait till the adults were served.

My favourite were Black Jacks, didn't care for there partners Tutti Fruitties.
Oh, and gobstoppers.

It's still possible to buy them here though I'm sure some don't taste as good as they did back in the far reaches of time when I was a kid!
I used to love Black Jacks @ 4 for a penny!
Favourite to buy in quarters even now (if I can find them) Edinburgh Rock

I can remember when the sweets were only a penny each, some of them were 2 and 3 for a penny. Hence "penny candy". What fun that was. We filled our little white bag for your quarter.

Yes, I am old enough to remember this. You could buy a big bag of sweets, even if you only had a few pennies. I liked sherbet fountains, gobstoppers, love hearts, parma violets, and loads more. Those were the days ...

there arent many shops that sell sweets by the quarter these days, but I do know of one shop that does. It just means going all the way into the city centre :(

Yes I do, I used to like rhubarb and custards, especially if u got one with loads of custard on it and chocolate powder. I cant remember what it was called but it was like chocolate and smarties grinded until it was powdery. All the cool kids bought it.
