As far as story I would say Halo. But Gears of War is up there. Gears of War is more about the shooting to me, rather than the story. I think the story in Halo is way more interesting.

Halo by a long shot.
I have finished both, and I think Gears of War is a far better game, but GoW doesn't really have much of a story, and you learn that what you spend half the game doing was completely pointless, which killed the story.
Halo 2 has a great story, the Flood is really interesting, and the story has been expanded into 3 books and a comic.

Halo is getting really old, i used to play it online until gears of war came out and now that is the number 1 game in America,
so i would have to say Gears of War

HALO ALL THE WAY!!!!! gears has a great story dont get me wrong but its so short it aint funny and half of the game your doin stuff that has like no point to it

i would definitly say gears becuase halo is about a bunch of rings! No mystery! gears has hundreds of backstorys and weapon history like what did marcuss father do? Why was marcus in prison??

without a doubt HALO.. GoW doesn't even compare.... All you did in that game was some unexplained crap, shot some dudes and made fun of others. The satelite weapon sucked... the sounds were earaching awful, and the replay value is crap. That and the game was WAY too easy.
