inside or outside, inside a lined phone you can, as the line goes outside, and electric current can be carried by the cable, obviously you can be hit by lightning anytime while outside, I don't think lightning is attracted to cel phones, other then the fact that they contain metal, so i would guess only a fraction of a percent increase with cel phone outside, not enough to scare anyone.

You probably wouldn't actually be struck by the lightning bolt itself, but lightning always follows the easiest path to ground and metal plumbing provides such a path. In a shower you're standing in water which comes from and leaves the shower via plumbing so if lightning follows that path you're going to get an immense shock of electricity.

You can get struck by lightning in a thunderstorm while you are talking to yourself. Your location is far more important than the phone.

I haven't read any official reports yet on lightning strikes due to cell phones,HOWEVER, as you were just told, being outside puts you at risk as does being near trees during a storm. Use common sense and use caution when you know storms are approaching. No phone call is so important as to get hurt.

You bet! If lightning strikes a phone line in your neighborhood, the current (being static electricity) will travel along the outside of the wires and right into your ear if it doesn't find a more suitable ground before then.
