I think they will at least make the playoffs, maybe 6,7, or 8 place. They are gonna get some good draft picks and maybe other free agents like forsberg, briere, drury, and gomez. They have two good goalies now too, Biron and Nittymaki.

Flyers are going to do much better this year. They have a good GM who knows how to plan for the long run (unlike Clark)if they stick to that then they'll be good for a few years. Also the key to the Flyers doing good next year is that they have to stay healthy. They have brought up so many young guys from the Phantoms who are inexperienced. If they stay healthy they'll do fine. Also the Forsberg trade helped them alot. They have more of a cap room to sighn free agents, also they got the top defenseman prospect in the OHL. Parent. Plus they got Upshall who is going to do great. Getting good goaltending is key, they got Biron who has some experience and he's doing great. He's even talking to Breire about coming over to Philly in the off season.Imagine this top line, Gagne,Breire and Upshall. That will be the fastest line in the league. Defense will only get better with experience plus they have a top pick in the draft. Philly may make the playoffs next year if they stay healthy but in a few years watch out because they will make a stanley cup run.

The Flyers will have a playoff contending team next year. They do not will not start the season with the injuries they had. They have much better goaltending in Biron. They have some very good prospects that are getting time with the Flyers.
They will get rid of bums like Hatcher and Rathje and will be a much faster team on the ice. They will also get the number 1 pick overall and will have money to spend on free agents.

A lot better then this year. The Coburn trade was great . Getting a true number one goalie is huge. Two picks in the first round including the number one overall they should get a player for sure who can help. Forsberg opens cap room and the Flyers can sign a stud and Philly is a Hockey town and no player would really mind playing their , Ryan Smyth? I like what they did and they can turn it around fast especially in the east. I have also heard that the defensman they got in the Forsberg deal is a stud. He has had a few injuries , but if he is healthy he is considered one of the best young D-men prospects in Hockey. I would like to see a new coach. I think Stevens is a good teacher and a good guy , but to me getting rid of Hitchcock was their biggest mistake. Clarke out , it was his time the game passed him by , Hitchcock fired , bad move.

I can't imagne the Flyers have TWO bad seasons in a row.
They still have some adjustments to make but I think there will be a big improvement over this season.
They need to get rid of Hatcher and a few others.
I don't know who their backup goalies is or will be but I'm not quite sold on Biron as a # 1 goalie like a lot of others are.

They should be much improved with some of the guys they picked up in deals. I know a lot of people want them to grab guys like Briere and such but they fixed the goaltending and instead of getting a couple of offensive guys they need to address the defense. They were horrible this year on the back line....possibly the slowest 3 defensive pairings in the entire NHL. They have guys who can score and enough toughness to play a physical game and good forecheckers but without a more mobile D they wont improve as much as people expect. Spend the extra cap money on blueliners and the improvement will be significant.....trying to win 6-5 shootouts every night isnt the way to do it.

A little better but not much. They don't have any outstanding young players and even if this year didn't have a shallow draft pool there would still be a few more seasons before they were ready.
Maybe a free agent or two would help but I don't know how close they are to the salary cap.

They'll be fine. A one year play-off hiatus is all it will be. I could see them signing a Briere and a Markov, something like that, young guys all a year older and a good nucleus with Gagne et al. They have cap room and they have young prospects. I will say however that I expected Richards and Carter to be further along by now but maybe next year because they are still young and battled injuries. Add Parent and Downie (good spark-plug) as long as they spend wisely, they will be fine. They will be off-season spenders.

Can it get any worse for the franchise as its loyal fans? The NHL is evolving into the NFL when it comes to the amateur draft and the club needs a young-gun to build the future around, like that "other" team in Pa.

much better they have a decent team with a high draft pick and an amazing goalie in Marty Biron who would have been a starter for the sabres if not for RYAN MILLER
