well your right...they have made the holder smaller and the fries themselves a little smaller. In the end though you are getting the same amount of fries but not the same size. They are just trying every way to make as much money as possible. They have been making many "improvements" on the fries and its holder, as you can see now the nutrition facts and the fries are a little more golden

It wouldn't surprise me if they did. Lately McDonald's has been caving into the pressure of people who expected healthiness from fast-food restaurants, which are and have always been notorious for fat and grease. I know they've stop selling the 44 oz. drink sizes for this purpose, so possibly they've done something similar to the fries.

McDonalds Fries source: zenadsl2377 2 great Idaho Russett potatoes a million/4 cup sugar 2 Tablespoons corn syrup a million a million/2 - 2 cups warm water 6 cups Crisco® shortening a million/4 cup pork lard (or save the fat from earlier cooked burgers) salt Peel the potatoes. In a great mixing bowl, combine sugar, corn syrup, and warm water. verify the sugar is dissolved. utilising a French fry slicer, decrease the peeled potatoes into shoestrings. The potatoes could be a million/4" x a million/4" in thickness, and approximately 4" to 6" long. (you're able to try this with a knife, in spite of the fact that that's lots of paintings). place the shoe stringed potatoes into the bowl of sugar-water, and refrigerate. enable them to soak approximately 30 minutes. jointly as they're soaking, %. the shortening into the deep fryer. Crank up the temperature to "complete". The shortening has to pre-warmth for an somewhat long term. that's going to ultimately liquify. After it has liquified and is a minimum of 375°, drain the potatoes and unload them into the fryer. (be careful, it's going to be ferocious) After a million to a million½ minutes, eliminate the potatoes and place them on a paper towel coated plate. enable them to chill out 8 to 10 minutes interior the refrigerator. jointly as they're cooling, upload the lard or pork drippings to the warm Crisco®. lower back, crank the temperature to complete. Stir interior the lard because it melts into the oil. that's going to mixture in. After the deep fryer is reheated to 375°-4 hundred°, upload the potatoes and deep fry lower back. This time for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. eliminate and place in a great bowl. Sprinkle generously with salt, then "toss" the fries to combination the salt calmly. (I advise a pair of million teaspoon of salt, perhaps slightly extra). Serve warm, serve right this moment, and luxuriate in! based upon the size of the potatoes, this recipe make approximately 2 medium sized fries. specific Notes: word: in case you like extra fries, double the recipe---yet do no longer double the cooking oil. only cook dinner them in shifts, including a pair of million/4 cup extra Crisco® and a million tablespoon lard for the 2d batch. word: For an much less stressful comparable to McDonald's french fries, you need to use the frozen, pre-decrease Ore-Ida® shoestring potatoes. only cook dinner them interior an identical mixture of Crisco® and lard, skipping the "blanching" technique. cook dinner them jointly as nevertheless frozen for 6-10 minutes (based upon the quantity) until golden brown. they're reliable, yet no longer almost as precise in style and texture because of fact the sparkling recipe.
