im in the us , we fight at games sometimes but not alot, there are serious fans but most take it as a game, if there is a fight its for fun and mostly when were drunk with friends and it end with that. If it was that serious someone would end up shot dead, i notice theres always fighting in european matchs and they take it serious but not alot of people get killed. is it for fun or do rival fans really hate each other

How would Americans know cuz you have never been to real soccer games not MLS. Anyway, back in my country Albania people are serious about football because that is the main sport. Our national team is not that good but we still support the team. A lot of people fight each other cuz that's how we are, emotional. I think when Albania faced Greece in 2004 when Greece was European champion, some Albanians died cuz some Greeks killed them. I ****** hate Greeks cuz they hate us. We have never made the world cup because we always face top European teams in order to qualify. Mostly Europeans are passionate about soccer because that's where the the strong teams are with the exception of Brazil and Argentina(which is my favourite team) in South America and because if you watch national team games for teams from southern europe the fans will most of the time fight and throw a lot of stuff into the field. About that not a lot of people get killed comment, in 1998 in the world cup, I think when the Columbian national team lost a Columbian defender scored an own goal . When he went back to Columbia somebody killed him. Maybe you have seen like British games or something, those people tend to not show very much emotion as do Northern European teams. If you start something with Southern European players or fans you better be ready cuz they are crazy man.

Of course it is serious. These people live, breath football. They do anything to support their team. This mixed with alcohol begins riots and fights which lead to injury and death.

Such actions are not logically explainable. Why anyone would come to physical blows over any game is not rational in my view.
