So some people on here are getting a little hostile.

Simply put, Federalism is not a style of architecture, or at least not in the way you mean it. It was the idea that the United States at the very beginning could not be 13 separate countries but had to be united into one, with one central, or federal power and authority. It was critical because a nation could not exist with 13 separate authorities. There had to be one, one set of taxes, one set of import/export rules and laws, one set of national courts, etc.

Google Federalism....Savannah Georgia has a wonderful architectural collection of federalist style buildings.....why not get off the computer and read your book/chapter on "the critical period". You'll save time and get ALL your answers.
