you are asking about SKILLS here..thus, just like any other skill that studying gives you, APPRECIATION and DEEPER COMPREHENSION are at the top of the skills that you'll learn. You'll learn to appreciate the American Literature and at the same time, you'll have a deeper comprehension of the American culture and existence in general.
