I have to write a six page rearch paper about fashion... i dont even kno where to start. I was thinking of writing it on how fashion has a cycle " how clothes go in and out of style". Im really lost and my teacher isnt a big help!! please someone help!!!

I don't know if you are going to get 6 pages out of fashion, but I would do this: Write about the different fashions of the different cliques, such as: Sports kids, Drama kids, Gothic kids, etc. And you can put things in there about how certain "preppy" kids shop at places like American Eagle, whereas "gothic" kids shop at places like Hot Topic, or whatever. And then you can see if you can put an area where how you dress sort of defines to which group you belong. I don't know if this helps at all, just an idea.

Actually, I think you could find a great deal of information, and quiet easily get six pages using fashion trends as a topic. Try several different web sites, and on-line periodical searches. EBSCOhost is a great search engine. Also try to find archived issues of fashion magazines, like articles from Seventeen from the seventies and eighties; even fifties. You'd be surprised how fashion is indeed cyclical. Take notes over everything that interests you and you might feasibly want to use in your paper. Once you're done hunting information; just sit down and start piecing the story together. I've included a link to a really great web site that outlines the basic steps to the writing process. Getting started is the hard part. Once you get over that hump, you'll be surprised how fast it goes.

Create a multi body system covering topics like styles past and present, re-emerging of old styles, as well as trends and how they get started, ect. If it's for English class, use lots of big words

Research is finding stuff.
Go browse the net and write down what you found...make it a 'story'. don't just collect anything..find something interesting about fashion and follow the trail...there will be a trail trust me.
You can start at Chanel how her stuff keeps coming back. Jacky Kennedy...to...er .. Madonna?

Maybe you could write about a specific fashion designer (example:Gianni Versace) or a past fashion trend (example: 1960s mod).
