what is the difference between lcd and hdtv?

Your choices in a widescreen are a bit confusing. You can buy LCD, Plasma, or rear projection. Each has pros and cons. LCD has really improved and eliminated most of the advantages that Plasma used to have. I would look first at LCD and then Plasma if you don't find what you want. Rear-projection can be a bargain, but won't have the compactness of a flat-panel.

LCD is a type of material used in the screen, stands for liquid crystal.

HD is high definition. It's the quality of the picture on the screen.

LCD can be either regular or Hi Def. It needs to say hidef or 1080i or 1080p to be the higher quality viewing.

LCD is great for TV, Plasma still a little better for games due to it's higher refresh rate. But they are more similar now.

i would go with plasma, i believe the picture quality is greater, and from one of our reps , he said the company claims that 20 years on 24/7 is half of the tv's life

lcd is best becouse
save ur electricity
best picture quality
good for ur eyes
but drowback is
more costy in buying & h/w failuring

lcd is a flat screen liquid crystal display, hdtv is HIGH DEFINITION tv.......better quality picture
