I didn't say don't pay your taxes. You could burn any prior years return. It's symbolic. Duh!

There would more than likely be some serious consequences for burning their tax returns - and anyone prone to burning the American flag cannot possibly have that degree of understanding when it comes to consequences for ones actions. They wouldn't even begin to understand the logic in your question - they'd rather just aggravate people with their ignorance.

I didn't know that we have a problem with people burning the flag... it seems to happen so infrequently.

As far as burning your tax return... well, what does that have to do with anything?????????? Maybe I am not as clever as you but I don't see the connection... can you elaborate? I can't see why anyone who burns flags would consider burning their income tax returns (assuming that they even get a return... they might aklso have to pay; are you telling flag burners to burn their checks that they write to the IRS???) given that their returns would be income that was not meant to be collected; it is not a gift.... I think your question is very strained.... please try again

The trouble with this idea is that the vast majority of protesters do not have any income or it is so low they do not have to file and pay any taxes.

You can burn as many 1040s as you want. They give them out free at the library. Nobody would care.

Sorry - I don't agree. Taxes are a responsibility to the country as a whole. I'm a liberal and to do that would be immoral as well as being illegal.
