I am trying to decide if I shall go with a Black or a Dark Blue Baby Backseat for my child or even if I should think about a light color such as beige ore something. I live in Mexicali, Mexico. A place where the heat, even though it's dry, can go up to 120 degrees in plain summer and the sun rays are pretty damn strong between 11:00 AM thru 7:00PM ... I was wondering if I should really care abour the color since the seat will be inside the car ...

I live in Phoenix....and I have to say Hot is Hot and neither color is going to cool down any faster than another. In those peak summer months.....throw a blanket on those carseat buckles before heading inside to keep them from getting quite so hot. When getting in your car after it has been parked in direct sunlight....start it first and let the A/C start working it's magic. THEN put all your shopping in the car. Once it is no longer quite so much of an oven....then load everyone in!!

Defiantely utilize sunshades, tinted film or have your car tinted professionally. There is also a little fan you can purchase that fits in your driver's side window that circulates air in your vehicle while it is parked...it can significantly decrease the tempurature inside your vehicle when it is parked in direct sunlight!! (It will probably still be hot in there, mind you, but perhaps not quite so bad!! I am putting a link to one below!!)

Hope this helped!

We have a light colored car seat, and it gets very hot during the summer. I imagine a dark color would be the same or worse because dark colors absorb sunlight. I make sure to keep a blanket in the car to put over it to try to keep direct sunlight off of it.

I would go with light colors, it does not attrack so much heat, and stains will not show as much. You cant avoid the seat getting hot where you live but I have always kept a towel in the car to cover the car seats with because those buckles get hot!! You could even get one of those cardboard sunshades and cover the seat with it.

I would go with a lighter color such as tan or beige.
Also you may want to try a sun shade...I've seen them they go over the windows and block sunlight and UV rays
