Trying to get my a/c fixed and have a leak and they want me to get a compressor along with other parts = $800 (those other parts are for a 12month warranty). Is there any better deal out there than $800??? Just the compressor alone is $400 + $75 to install it. I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire. Should I get jut the compressor or all 3 pars (i forgot what the other 2 are). It costs too much and I rather suffer this summer. and I dont really ned those other 2 but they are trying to sell it to me "just in case something happens withint he 12 months." I know im a female and not supposed to know about cars and am expected to get scammed out my money. What should I do

If you get the compressor replaced YES replace the other parts, the Reciever and the Dryer. If you dont you will contaminate the system and the new compressor will fail. That price is about right just make sure you take it to a reputiple place. Better to pay to get it done right then have to replace the compressor again.

perchance it is not a widespread area exchange cooling unit. some contraptions have been made which used water trickling onto a porous medium, and with a fan to strengthen the water evaporation and cooling. They left plenty to be needed different than in very dry factors the place the cooling would desire to be reliable. Now, in the experience that your compressor isn't working, it wont cool in any respect. contraptions fail to compress while the compressor will become defective, OR while the Klixon swap burns out, or while the refrigerant (usually called Freon) leaks out. you may desire to get somebody that might assist you difficulty shoot it, or get your self a e book and start to study the way it works and why it isnt.

Put on a sports bra, a shirt, tie, and pants, and tuck your hair under a fedora. Glue on a fake mustache. Talk low and scruffy.

Go into the shop. The repair will cost you half the money.

p.s. If the shop told you you needed a new orifice tube, it is because they are having an inside joke that they've screwed you before and got away with it many times. AC systems do not have orifice tubes, but women do.

Ok, zskip62, no need to get your panties up your orifice tube.

First of all, let's get this out of the way:
"no picture" is a MORON.
your car does have an orifice tube,ALL General Motors cars do.When an ac compressor is replaced, you should always change the orifice tube, the accumulator, and the receiver-drier.I know it sounds expensive, but it must be done to ensure proper function.
