Since you're asking this question, I'll assume you are not a law enforcement officer, so my advice to you if you catch an illegal alien is to hire a lawyer because you've probably broken the law. Making a "citizens' arrest" is only authorized, generally, where you actually witness the person engage in a felony. Simply being in the US illegally is typically only a federal misdemeanor. Which means that in "catching" the illegal alien all you've really done is kidnap or assault him. Vigilante justice doesn't pay. Have fun in jail.

Run, because you have no legal right to detain him or her and are guilty of false imprisonment and possibly kidnapping for the detention.

You should report him or her to the border police, you should not hurt him or her in any way. They are people like us, just looking for a better life style.

Deport them, but give them employment resources as well as resources on how he/she can gain entry into the US through legal means.
