~~There is a lot of info on this but I'll try to keep it short for you:

Bank holiday: Provided legitimate holidays when bank monies could not be exchanged and therefore reduced costs at both state run and federal banks.

CCC: Guaranteed civilans (as opposed to military personnel) access to VA benefits as long as they spent at least 2 years working on conservation projects in war torn areas.

FERA: Originally created to help those people who were testifying in government corruption cases. Provided housing, food and safe transportation to a new city for these witnesses and their family. Later it was expanded and became the Witness Protection Program.

AAA: Repealed the first agricultural act and allowed farmers to destroy those crops for which they could not receive a decent profit. (The first act only allowed the government to determine what crops could be classified for destruction and farmers were not reimbursed.)

TVA: An example of pork-barrel politics. Provided the people of the Tennessee Valley with new construction projects that the rest of the country paid for but, it did provide a tremendous amount of jobs for people in Tenn.

NRA: The first program to assist in the recovery of kidnapped victims. Gave the FBI a broad spectrum of authority and power in these cases.

PWA: Provided government sponsored work projects for the unemployed people over age 50 who had no other source of income or support.

Glass-Steagall Act: First legislation to put health and safety regulations on the coal mining industry after the riots in the mining towns of West Virginia.

CWA: This program provided funding to rapidly develop this nation's non-military civil aviation programs (later changed to CAA).

Indian Reorganization Act: Enforced the movement of the smaller Eastern tribes to the Dakotas in order to provide them with decent living conditions. (In reality, it was another ploy to take their tribal lands.)

WPA: The first government office to act as a check and balance system for fiscal matters. Later renamed the Government Accounting Office. Still in operation today.

Wagner Act: Established the right of employees to negotiate their own representation without the use of a union (shop) steward if the majority of employees (2/3rds) agreed.

Soil Conservation Act: Authorized the use of insecticides and pesticides on government lands in order to avoid land erosion through crop failures. (A direct result of the "Dust Bowl".)

Social Securities Act: Provided a means for government-sponsored income for persons over age 65 who worked at least 10 consecutive years as well as death benefits for the head of household after his or her death.

FHA: Initiated the "Title" housing programs for people at or below the poverty level. The most important were the Title 7, Title 23 and Title 48 sections which provided the funding mechanisms to actually build the housing projects.

Fair Labor Standards Act: This program instituted the Unemployment Insurance Agency which guaranteed all workers the right to collect money while unemployed (if they met the criteria, which at that time was much more liberal than now).

Hatch Act: Named after the Utah senator (Orrin Hatch) who proposed and wrote the act. This act gave federal employees the right to engage in partisan political activities as long as they did not hold a federal job that involved the funding or overseeing of such organizations or activities.

~Yes, the internet can. The most powerful research tool ever conceived by mankind sits right there under your lazy little fingertips, just begging to be used. Just type in "New Deal" or any of the programs/agencies you seek and watch the fireworks fly. My God kid, you can cut and paste from the original text faster than I can do it for you, not that I'm inclined to do your homework for you to begin with. It is truly appalling how lazy computers and this site have made people, isn't it.

Hey, not to worry. Some sucker will eventually do your homework. Go back to the TV or your game and be patient. And think of how much you'll learn that way.

Note to Nice too Meet You: See, I told you so. Like Barnum said, there's one born every minute.

Note to bcptm: way to go, dummy. Do the kid's homework for him. The moral here is he can go through life relying on the largess of others and get by - right up until he starts his illustrious career as a burger flipper with the Clown. By the way, was that a red herring with the Indian Reorganization Act or are you truly unaware that the act was passed at the insistence of the Seminoles who needed cheap labor in their Oklahoma oilfields. That is why most of the relocations were to Oklahoma, although I will grant you that the old and infirm were sent to Pine Ridge.
