I am just looking for some opinions on Paley. I did my paper, but i just want some extra points to add....things that aren't in my book. Does Paley's argument prove the existence of God? How does his time period affect his position? Thanks in advance ;0)

i think he made a very good arguement for a designer of the world,, aka God,,,,,, as to proving it, that would be hard to do,,,,,,,but yes he pointed out that things did not just happen by chance, a random creation of this world,,,,, but many fine details all work together,,,,, to make life on earth possible,,,,,,
as to time period,, he did not have to contend with serious "evolutionist" theories,,,,, and natural selection theories came later also,,,, Darwin actually studied Paley,,,,,, and took from his work a belief in adaption, that organisims are fit for the environments they live in,,,,,,, Darwin excluded the designer , not necessarily of the creation, but of the evolution afterwards,
