There is a huge amount of information on Charles Darwin online. You could start with the Wikipedia which has an excellent article about him, and also look for information about Darwin's idea "Natural Selection."

Darwin was a very smart and interesting person - probably the most important biologist who ever lived. His ideas are widely accepted by biologists all over the world - every day when they do their work they can't help recognizing the facts of evolution that were first described by Darwin in his book "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection" which he published in 1859.

Good luck.

Charles Darwin studied finches on the galapogoes islands and noticed that the finches beak changed from island to island and from the finches on the mainland. The beaks were specialy developed to help the bird eat food which was found on that particular island. From comparing the similarites of the finches Darwin hypothosised that the differnt species of finches all origonated from the same species of bird long ago but had changed or evolved due to natural selection(the animals best suited to there environment survive to pass on the traites whiched helped them suvive such as a different shaped beak). Takeing the idea further palentologists have placed animals alive now and animals which were extinct in to specific groups due to similarities in the animals with the idea that the animals in these group origonated from the same species of animal back in time. For example modern day birds and reptiles can be traced back useing similarites of skelletons to dinosuars.
I hope this helps a little

If you want to include Dinosaurs, look for info on Archaeopteryx. It's a small dinosaur with several charactristics that link it to birds.

Wikipedia can get you started!
