what will i get for my new spongebob tank?

I got goldfish and got them a starter kit with all u need except for a large tank. im getting a new one and don't know what to put in it

I'm glad to hear you aren't planning to keep your goldfish in the spongebob tank (probably around 5 gallon?) for long. Goldfish grow quickly and produce a lot of wastes. You'd either end up doing water changes every few days to keep their ammonia level down (it's toxic to fish) or end up stunting their growth and having them die prematurely. A single goldfish should have at least 20 gallons.

If you are looking for small fish that will do well in a 5 gallon sized tank and won't need a heater, I'd recommend a few guppies (these will breed in the tank, so if you don't want to deal with lots of baby fish, only get males - females can store sperm and produce young for 6 months, so all females doesn't work). White clouds are another possibility for something small.

If you want to get a heater, neon tetras, cardinal tetras, glolight tetras, platies, rasboras, a single male betta, a single dwarf gourami, or some ghost shrimp would all be some choices.

I like the idea of the pineapple if you don't have one - it fits the theme of the tank. But Patrick is my favorite, so get a (fake) starfish. You could get an apple snail for Gary, too!

I love neon tetras they are small fish, and when they wiggle in the water, they flash their gills at you. They are really neat animals.
