i think it depends on the girl. i personally won't ask a guy out, and i don't really play hard to get. ok sometimes i play hard to get.

Neither. Be honest. The guy should ask a woman out- not just tradition, there are reasons too extensive for right here. If the woman takes the initiative and asks the man out, she may be getting into a kind of relationship she doesn't want...
