I don't like normal out of the book?

Question

The baby will be half puertorican and half italian... I am thinking of Selena for a girl and possibly for a boy Angel, Xavier or Jael, (pronounce Jy-el) (P.S. to all who do not know, these are very popular names in the latino world...) what do you think?

Selena is fine...if I had to choose between the boys names I would go with Xavier...sorry I don't get why so many hispanic people name thier sons Angel. There were like 6 of them in my high school 10 years ago.

Beleive it or not I am African American and these names are very familiar to me. I think Jael Xavier would be a very nice name for the boy. Selena is a good pick for the girl's name and if you wanted to you could use Jael as the girl's middle name. I think the the two go well together.

I like the name Jael. Different. What about the Italian names? These are all Puerto Rican/ Latino names, right? But definitely Jael, for either a boy or girl. Good luck!!

I like Xavier and Jael, Selena i have personally given thought too, but i was gonna just do Selene or Selenja ( Selen-ya). as for Angel, its a beautiful name to give any child but there are so many people naming their children Angel. I know 6 people named Angel. Good Luck!! and Congrats!!

Selena for a girl is beautiful it has greek roots meaning "moon" which is of course lovely. As for the boys rather than Angel I do like Angelo which also has greek roots meaning "messenger". I only know Jael as a girls name but still I think its great. Though I wouldn't pick Xavier myself with your babies roots it would easily work. I do also like Enzo which is what my fiances cousin has just called her little boy. Of course sometimes it can depend on how you feel when you see your baby. Have a few names then when the baby is born you can see which suits it. Sometimes you may choose something different. Karisa is also a nice name but like I said Selena is great.

Well since you have Selena picked out, that's pretty cool. For the boy I like Jael. I have heard too many boys named Xavier and Angel honest. If you like Xavier, then you may like Xander (Zan-der). Don't let people talk toy out of the name that you honestly like. Mommy knows best! Congratulations and good luck!

Every Angel I know are not nice guys, so I exclude that one. As much as I like the spelling of Jael - being an Italian white girl myself I would mess up the pronouncing, so thats out. As for Xavier... well thats the name I have selected for my boy and I love it!But like another girl pointed out, you can try Xander. I know 2 PR friends of mine who have selected that name for their boys. Its becoming hot!:)



Selena is pretty for a girl... if you change the S to a C it becomes Italian.. Celena. Why not that spelling? You give her the PR heritage, but with a nice Italian spelling. Another name I find that is very popular in both Italian and PR famlies is Contessa (Or Countess/Princess).. That is beautiful as well.

I have alway been wondering how one would go about pronouncing Jael (jy el) and what I think is that those names are very good. King is quite different and even those most would say they would only name their horse or dog that I've heard of both dogs and humans name Mitzi and or Sadie, so don't sweat it.

I like Selena for a girls name
For a boy I like Jael the best. I know a lot of guys named Angel myself. I am not one for common names.
