Homicide is kind of an "all of the above' thing. It's based in Latin, and Homo is "man." -cide comes at the end of all killings, but I forget the literal translation. (e.g. Infantcide, genocide, etc)
Murder is the act of killing with intention to kill. Manslaughter could be a car accident, a fight that kills the other by an unlucky punch in the head. Any death you cause.
Murder 1 is life without parole.
Murder 2 is life with parole atfer 15 years
Manslaughter, in my state is 5-20 years.

the only difference is intent, if you went with the intent to kill some one it is murder, you planned it thought how to do it when would be the best time, how to get away, this equals murder, you kill someone without intent is man slaughter, you go out to a bar and get into a fight and hit someone and they never wake up, yes you killed them but you did not intend to, so this would be man slaughter or if you could prove he started the fight and hit you first then you would go for self defense!! and homicide is a section of the police that deal with murder cases!!

Murder and Homicide are the same thing. This is where you intentionally kill someone (either purposefully, or knowingly). Manslaughter is where a person is killed by the reckless or negligent act of another; unintentional killing.

Homicide is killing another. It is not necessarily a crime (e.g. self-defense). Murder is the intentional unlawful killing of another. Manslaughter is the unintentional unlawful killing of another.
