It's just adjusting to the tank. They sometimes do wierd stuff like this for a few days. It's nothing to worry about and the fish should stop before very long.

Odd that a female is doing this: I had a male swordtail that used to do that. I also have a Paradise fish that does this.
If the light is on, it might be that they see their reflection in the glass and try to chase it. Other than that, I don't know what else it could be.

I would create more hiding places for it. Especially in the top sections of the tank, using plants [possibly "amazon swords" as they are hard wearing tall plants, and are ok in a range of water ph levels].
This should make it feel less exposed and vulnerable to attack by the other fish. Good luck ;)

I had the same problem with my betta and I took it to the vet and he said it could just that the fish is a little scared or stressed.I would reccomend putting it in a tank by itself and see what it does!

She may be somewhat traumatized by the move. They usually adjust in time. I would watch her to see if she avoids the other fish, if she's used to being alone in a tank she may have to get used to sharing space.

the fish is just cheaking out the tank to see how tall it is then maybe later on the fish would swim in circles around the tank to see how wide it is.

Its not used to its surroundings yet. It probably will do that for a couple more days until it feels more comfortable..
